Youth Ministry

Currently the Core PFA is meeting on Thursday nights for fellowship and Bible study. Our goal is to reach students where they are at, and to discuss real life topics that  they deal with on a daily basis. We strive to develop community driven, servant minded students to reach those who need Christ in their life. We believe in developing young people for the rest of their lives and strengthening their dependence and focus on God to a tangible attainable result. God’s love and mercy is unending, and we believe that each and every student can experience this first hand.

If you have any questions regarding our events call Pastor Adam at 928-308-1822.

Prayer

Prescott First Assembly Prayer Ministries exists to equip our local church to become a House of Prayer for all nations, releasing God’s power for revival and finishing the task of world evangelization. We work to transform lives by teaching and practicing prayer on a continual basis weekly.

Join us each Sunday for the next seven weeks at 9:00 a.m. for our School of Prayer prayer class.

The Staff and Leadership of Prescott First Assembly want to pray for your needs. We know that life can be challenging, but we believe God wants to pour out His favor and blessings. Please take a moment and share your prayer requests with us and we will pray for them individually. We sincerely believe that God answers prayer.

Email your prayer request to:

Connection Expeditions

Connection Expeditions exist to give people another opportunity to grow both personally and collectively in a unique setting other than inside the walls of a church or conference center.

We believe that God gave us the outdoors to help us see the bigger picture He has designed for us.

Church settings are nice but the roof is to low. God took Abraham outside his tent and told him to look up at the stars in the sky – God told him that his offspring would outnumber the stars. What God did is just as significant as what he said. He led Abraham outside for an object lesson that he would never forget.

Why did God take him outside? Because inside the tent, Abraham’s vision of God and God’s amazing future for him was limited. He could not see the potential of God’s promises displayed against the backdrop of God’s creation. God wanted him to get a glimpse of just how big a God he was. Taking Abraham outside was God’s way of telling him not to put limits and ceilings on what God wanted to do through him and for him.

Conventional leadership, marriage conferences are neat to attend and meaningful without a doubt. They give us a new perspective on everyday life and work. But with the unique angle Connection Expeditions take we get out of buildings and into God’s creative natural sanctuary’s for lessons and connections that give us another way of learning what God is speaking to us.

These “anti conferences” are away to let God teach us about ourselves, about others and about the world we live in.

Job 12:7-10   But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

Psalm 19:1-6 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

Romans 1:19-20 What may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature‑‑have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

We use the ministry of Connection Expeditions for Leadership, marriage and Team building efforts.

Our expeditions are regularly scheduled and updated on this web site.

Children’s Ministry

At PFA Kids, we believe that there is nothing more important than a child’s relationship with God.  That’s why we work so hard to partner with parents and to see kids enter into a lifelong relationship with Jesus.  Each of our kids environments has been created with a child in mind.  We work to engage kids at their level with application based ideas and activities.  Safety is huge priority for us, and in addition to screening every volunteer that works with kids, we have a secure children’s wing and security system in place.

Early Childhood
We offer nursery and preschool environments at all of our Sunday morning at Wednesday evening service times.  Children are separated by age group for their safety and so they’ll benefit as much as possible from being in an age appropriate environment.

The children are involved with their parents for the first portion of the adult service then dismissed with our staff for ministry at their level of understanding.

Leadership

Pastor Steve & Brenda Lummer

Pastor Steve and Brenda Lummer have been in active full time ministry to people for over 30 years. Starting in the 1980’s as youth ministers and going on to plant a church in the St, Louis area during the 1990’s. In 2003 Pastor Steve and Brenda moved to beautiful Prescott Arizona and have pastored Prescott First Assembly of God for the past nine years. They spend their time hiking, biking and finding better ways to reach teach and love people with the love of Christ.

Pastor Adam & Natascha Kling

A gifted speaker and lover of following God’s will Adam is a gift to our church family and our community here in Prescott. Natascha is our worship leader who love God deeply and worship him passionately. Get Connected

Church is meant to be more than a spectator sport. It’s not about showing up on Sunday morning, enduring the service, tossing some money in the offering plate and heading out feeling that we’ve done our duty. It’s about being part of a family where people are living out authentic relationships with God and each other. Finding your place in a church can seem a little daunting. We’re here to help you find your way – not just to a seat in the auditorium, but to your place in the church family.

Connect

Connecting is all about relationships… with God and one another. As you begin your journey at Prescott First Assembly, we encourage you to  make that first “connecting” step by attending Sunday worship services to see if our church is a good fit for you. A blended worship service  is held each Sunday at 10:00 am. We feature a blended set of
traditional and contemporary music, prayer, and teaching from God’s  Word.

Serve

Journeying with Christ is more than connecting and growing. We believe we’re called to reach our church family, our community, and the world with the love of Christ. These tangible expressions of God’s love are  seen in those who roll up their sleeves and serve. Our congregation is encouraged to identify one place of service inside the church and a place outside the church. Serving might come in the form of raising money for missions or finding a community project to get involved in; It might volunteer to serve on the worship team or help prepare communion. Some may chose to venture to exciting destinations through missions. The opportunities to serve are limited only by the imagination.

Grow

Once you find that Prescott First Assembly is a good fit, you’re ready to go deeper. We believe that spiritual growth happens best in connection with others. That’s where our Small Group Ministry comes in. We have men’s groups and women’s groups, groups with singles and couples. We have groups with older folks and younger folks, and new
groups forming all the time.

About

History

Prescott First Assembly has roots run deep within our community. A few Pentecostal families organized the original church with 33 members January 9th, 1940, lead by the Rev. Hubbard Knight and pastor Elmers. The church was then meeting at 511 South Montezuma street.

Later the congregation move down the hill to what is the now APS building. Throughout the following decades, additions were made, buildings were replaced and a new church constructed on Willowcreek road when Pastor Paul Killingsworth was the pastor. Then is the 1990’s a new building was constructed on the Willowcreek property under the leadership of Pastor Steve and Marjorie Harris.

Pastor Steve and Brenda Lummer joined the church in June of 2003. Steve is a graduate of Central Bible College in the Springfield Missouri while Brenda was just across town at Evangel University. They have served the church in Iowa, California, Ohio, Missouri and Arizona in various capacities for over three decades

The church has a deep history of being heavily involved in missions work both within our community and internationally. We believe it is our duty to reach and minister to families within the Tri City area, across our state and nation, and throughout the world.

Core Values

The Beginning
In the beginning God created out of nothing the world and all of the things therein; thus manifesting the glory of His power, wisdom and goodness. No evolution beliefs here. By His sovereign power He continues to sustain His creation. By His providence He is operating throughout history to fulfill His redemptive purposes.

God
The Father, First in the Trinity. We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each of whom possesses equally all of the attributes of deity and the characteristics of personality.

Jesus
Jesus Christ, Second in the Trinity who came to earth in true human nature through an Immaculate Conception and a virgin birth. He lived a life of perfect obedience to the Father and voluntarily atoned for the sins of humanity by dying on the cross as our substitute, thus acomplishing divine justice and bringing salvation for all who trust Him with their lives. Three days after his death, he rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He lived and died. He ascended into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of the Father, where He, the only Mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own. He shall come again to earth, personally and visibly, to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.

The Holy Spirit
Third in the Trinity (please know we are not ranking them in any particular ‘Olympic’ order) who came and presently remains with all on the earth and lives in the heart of every Christian. His purpose on earth is to provide every believer with the tools necessary to exemplify the life we’ve been called to live according to the commands of Jesus Christ.

Future

Over the next few months our congregation is looking forward to a brand new start. We are praying and planning with anticipation and action toward to bright future. We are in process of finishing phase one of our relocation strategies and forecast phase two beginning in 2012.

Phase one includes:
Complete when we have finalized and found a buyer for the front two acres of property on Willowcreek road.

Phase two includes:

  • Placement of a full orbed ministry team to minister to children and young adults in the tri-city area.
  • New office space, a second worship sight for a new congregation.
  • Renaming the church.
  •  Build an ongoing outreach focused fellowship that reaches, teaches and touches the real needs of people.
  • Securing a primary site for the current congregation.
  • Invest in and involve the people in our congregation in building a long term ministry both locally and globally.

We are looking for three ministry families to join us in this mission to reboot and re-launch the church in 2012. PLEASE Call pastor Steve Lummer if you are interested @ 928-710-0750.

We know God has a new fresh exciting future for the church and look forward to his plan being unveiled in the months ahead of us. Our church in on a constant quest to: CONNECTSERVE and GROW.
